After all

through pilates and feldenkrais I'm playing with myself so I'm more confortable with a less serious template.

Despite the terrible weather, we had a lovely weekend: great food & wine! If you are around, I'd recommed to have lunch/dinner here:
2. Piazza Crova, 3 (Vaglio Serra).

I finished my second scarf and I will be be done with the third soon. While I was knitting we had an interesting conversation. Again, I think I know where I'm going as I feel really good when I'm focused on my body and on the connection between body and mind. Priorities change as lfe changes and at this stage of my life I feel the need to catch up with my body. I've been focusing for a long time on my intellectual growth, it's now time to pay attention to my body needs.

Dreams and Tulips

I'm pretty busy so this is going to be short. However, I have to briefly mention here the great b&b where we spent the weekend: sogni e tulipani (dreams and tulips). The hospitality was great thanks to Margherita and Maurizio who treated us like friends not guests. Not to mention breakfast with home made focaccia, cakes and fresh cheese, eggs etc. Moreover, the area is really beautiful and food delicious almost everywhere. If you're looking for an old style place to eat traditional Piemontese food you can't miss Trattoria Concordia (San Martino Alfieri). It's challenging to describe this place: you have to go there, it's like a trip to the past!

Things I have been silent about

I still have deadlines and I'll be pretty busy until May. I have thought about this blog, though, and I do want to keep this space alive. An idea came to my mind few days ago but I immediately "erase" it.
There is no need to delete this blog because I like how I have shaped the boundaries of my own story and identity so far thanks to this tool. What is a blog if not a narrative tool to covey our version of our personal history?
Besides, for the very first time and unlike past virtual experiences, I feel that this is my very personal space where -for unknown reasons- I feel free to write about me. I lreally like to be read by the few people who know about this blog and I enjoy writing in English.

I've came up with a potential solution. As March, April and May will be hectic as far as work, travels and several commitments, the only way to nurture this space is writing during the weekend. I'm sure it will work for me, except when I'll be away from home. I also want to catch up with my favourite blogs.

Blogprolific will become a weekend blog, that's my own commitment to myself and my readers. How does it sound?

ps. I'm reading a wonderful book, it's truly inspiring and I'll be writing about it soon.

A weekend in the Langhe II

So we went to this area called Langhe which is wonderful. It's a real must for wine, food and nature. Although it's not as popular as Tuscany, I highly recommed to go for two or three days and enjoy every single thing in this amazing sub region.

We decided to celebrate our anniversay here and although a bit expensive it's definitely worth it if you're looking for romaticism, silence and beauty. Homemade breakfast was delicious, we took our time to taste both the cake and the cheese! They only have three rooms (one is a suite) so make sure to reserve in advance. The restaurant was close though and we were advised to go to Alba and have dinner here. The food was amazing but the wine was even better (we had a good bottle and we finished it!).

The weather was good and it was so beautiful to see the vineyards under the snow. If you go there, don't miss La Morra for the landscape, Alba, the old village of Neive, the route from Neive to the famous Barolo and Bararesco, Pollenzo and Cherasco. Of course there is more to see but these are  the villages we visited, they are all unique and lovely. It's better to go off season (namely not during the truffles season October-November) and to buy wine and cheese in this area. A bottle of Barolo is almost mandatory ;)

Vineyards under snow (Langhe, Piedmont)

A weekend in the Langhe

Last weekend we went here and it was GREAT. I'll write more tomorrow. If you're planning a romantic weekend in Italy and you like wine, food and nature this is the right place to go.
